Ken Purcell has been active in private capital investment for over 20 years.
Prior to being a founding partner of Chartwell Capital Management Company Inc.,
Purcell was a Vice President with T. Rowe Price Associates and Managing
Director for the T. Rowe Price Threshold Funds, a group of funds specializing
in direct equity and debt/equity investments. Before joining T. Rowe Price in
1989, Purcell was a Principal with Aeneas Venture Corporation, an investment
subsidiary of Harvard Management Company Inc. Aeneas Venture Corporation
manages the private equity interests of the Harvard Endowment Fund, including
investment in direct private equity and private equity funds.
Purcell is currently a board member of A. Marinelli Shoes, PlayNetwork,
Enterworks, and Black Diamond. He has been an active investor in numerous
successful ventures, including Starbucks Coffee Company, CompUSA, Fresh Field
Markets, Integral Systems, The Moorings, and SBA Communications.
Purcell is a member of the Human Resources Committee of the Acosta Board of
Directors and is a graduate of Babson College.
